At the Miami Grand Prix, McLaren driver Lando Norris became the winner of a Formula 1 race for the first time


2009 world champion and former British team driver Jenson Button said what he thinks about his compatriot`s achievement.


I`m very proud of him. This has been a long time coming. When you compete in Formula 1 and don`t win, it seems like an eternity. There were a couple of opportunities where things didn`t work out in his favor and it`s great to see him at the top.


The memory of this stays with you forever. And you still need a car to achieve it again. It took me three years [to win my second F1 title], hopefully it will take him less time to win his second race.


However, his approach to racing will not change. He is confident, a very skilled pilot and a team player. So I expect more wins over the years and I just hope that the battle between Red Bull and McLaren happens sooner rather than later - that would be amazing, " the driver and Sky Sports pundit said.
